Safety Precautions taken at Eliot
updated 8.22.22
The following guide ensures that we all stay as safe as is possible:
--Masks are Optional --Social Distancing - Every other pew in the sanctuary will be roped off. Worshipers will socially distance themselves in the open pews to keep each other safe and comfortable. --Ventilation - All windows will be open during the service so dress accordingly. We have four air purifiers which clean the air in the Sanctuary every 20 minutes. --Singing - We can sing! Pastoral staff and choir section leaders are 100% vaccinated and will socially distance. Congregants are encouraged to sing hymns softly, protecting each other by distancing. --Children and Families - are encouraged to sit together for the service. Children may occupy themselves at the "Pray-Ground" at the rear of the Sanctuary. There will be no Sunday School or child care for the time being. --Offering - Offering plates will be at each entrance to the sanctuary. The plate will not be passed. --Coffee Hour - We will be having coffee hour. People are encouraged to continue to socially distance except when eating or drinking. --Holy Communion - Communion will be in both kinds, bread (wafer) and grape juice. Worshipers who want to commune will take an empty juice cup provided for you as you enter the Sanctuary. When Communion time comes, you will file into the center aisle with your empty juice cup and proceed forward to where your cup will be filled and receive a wafer which you will then take back with you to your seats and commune together at the same time there. |
