Building Blocks of Faith Project:
Part Three

Rev. Rick invited us to begin a journal as a way to deepen our faith and explore our spiritual lives. It is our hope to share some of our journal entries with each other via slideshows and virtual reality, much like our Easter Vigil project. ALL AGES ARE ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE. While this work is intensely personal, parts of it will be shareable. Each week we will offer a theme that will help you think about the building blocks of your faith as we move toward discerning where God is calling us as individuals and as a community of faith.

Our current theme is:  “Guide Our Feet, Lord"

Christian educators live by the maxim, “Faith is caught, not taught.” From whom or what did you catch yours? Each of us has an experience of being drawn to faith and this project invites you to share some of your faith story.

Here are some questions to help you focus:
  • Was church something your family participated in together?
  • Did you grow up in no faith tradition or a different faith tradition?
  • Was there a specific time in your life that called you to faith or was it a gradual unfolding?
  • Do you have an “artifact” – such as your confirmation Bible or your Sunday School attendance pin or a family grace passed down through generations or a baptism photo?

Please send your responses in prose, poetry and/or images to drelizabeth@eliotchurch.org by June 5th.
At Eliot Church, we love growing in faith together. From our annual Stone-Soup lunch and Thanksgiving Celebration to the Christmas Pageant to activities that help us explore the Church Year to on-line projects that help us deepen our relationships with Jesus and each other, we know that to be the whole people of God, we need each other! No matter where you are on your journey of faith, there is a place for you to grow with us! For information about any of these adventures, please contact
