Theodor Schneller School This school in Amman, Jordan serves marginalized, underprivileged and orphaned, boys of the Jordanian community, as well as many boys from a Palestinian refugee camp. It was founded in 1959, after the original school was forced to move from Jerusalem due to the Arab-Israeli war of 1948. Boys are accepted according to the following criteria: Loss of one or both parents, boys from socially troubled homes, and those who are needy and underprivileged. The mission of the Theodor Schneller School is based on the teachings of Jesus Christ and his command to nourish and take care of his little brothers and sisters. Half the students are Christian, half are Muslim. The Schneller School is a Peace School, emphasizing tolerance and mutual understanding and respect.
