Rev. Tony Kill has served UCC Congregations in the Boston area for over 20 years. He is active in denominational leadership, clergy training, and interfaith networking. Rev. Kill was initially ordained in the Roman Catholic Church, where he was a member of a religious order of monks and a seminary spiritual director. After post-graduate study at Union Theological Seminary in New York City, he received ministerial standing in the United Church of Christ in 1983. Rev. Kill is the 13th senior pastor of Eliot Church in it’s 160+ year history. |

Associate Pastor, Rev. Karla Jean Miller |

Rev. Karla Miller recently relocated to Boston from Raleigh, North Carolina, where she served as Minister with Youth and Children at North Raleigh United Church, a new church start in a growing suburban community. Prior to serving NRUC, Karla was the Chaplain and Director of Spiritual Life at Peace College in Raleigh for three years, where she created weekly worship, taught courses in Hebrew Bible and New Testament and helped spearhead the Office for Community Involvement, the college’s community service and learning initiative. Karla earned her Master’s of Divinity Degree at Union Theological Seminary in NYC, where she focused on worship, the arts and spiritual formation in young people. She has taken graduate courses in Pastoral Care and Counseling, as well as in literature and functional pottery. Prior to ordained ministry, Karla taught religious studies at Riverside Presbyterian Day School (PK-6) in Jacksonville, FL and worked in youth ministry. | |||

Minister of Music, Maury A. Castro |

Maury A. Castro is currently a student at Boston University pursuing the Master of Sacred Music in Organ Performance. His current teacher is Peter Sykes, and previous teachers include Richard Clark and Del Case in organ, and Giomar Marsollier and Leta Kravig in piano. Before embarking on his studies at BU, Maury completed a year of graduate work in philosophy at Boston College. He also holds a Master of Divinity from Andrews University (2002) and a Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Pacific Union College (2000). Before coming to Eliot, Maury served as music director at Trinity Church in Northborough, Massachusetts. Maury is a member of the American Guild of Organists, Boston Chapter; The Organ Historical Society; and the UCC Musicians National Network. |

Terri Whitney-Jackson. The 2007 -2008 program year marks Terri’s tenth year at Eliot Church. She feels she has been privileged to serve the Congregation of Eliot. She serves as Church Administrator, Facilities Manager and Publications Designer. She derives great pleasure from the wide variety of responsibilities the Church has entrusted to her and sees her job as a ministry to the Church. She enjoys traveling on her Buell motorcycle across the country in all types of weather. |

Seminary Intern, Kurt Walker |

Kurt A. Walker is a second year Masters of Divinity candidate at Andover Newton Theological School and is In-Care with the Pilgrim Association of the United Church of Christ. His home church is Central Square Congregational in Bridgewater. Kurt is currently the Chairperson for Student Life, an invited Fellow of the Journeys on the Hill interfaith program in conjunction with Hebrew College and an active leader in the Peace Fellowship on campus. Kurt has recently taken a hiatus from the Tanglewood Festival Chorus after the last ten years, having sung with the Boston Symphony Orchestra in Europe, New York, Boston and Tanglewood and is a featured tenor soloist in the metro Boston area. Kurt is also actively involved as a past President of the Prune Belly Syndrome Network www.prunebelly.org. Kurt lives on campus with his wife Jennifer and twins Madeleine an Benjamin. Kurt also works at Children’s Hospital Boston as a member of the Cardiovascular Networking Team. |
